Don’t miss this amazing professional baseball umpire as she – yes, she – tells it like it is. Jen Pawol talks about her journey from baseball to softball and back again, both as a player and an umpire.
Before being assigned to the Gulf Coast League in 2016, Jen spent thousands of innings calling all kinds of games across the country. From both men’s and women’s fast pitch to NPF, from college baseball and softball to numerous youth events, Jen knows the game inside and out.
Why Would Anyone Want to Become an Umpire?, The Most Commonly Called Rules and How to Get the Most out of your Strike Zone, No Matter Who is Pitching, Hitting, Catching or Umpiring and an open Q & A are just a few of the areas Jen will cover at Be the Best.
During each of her sessions, she will include a demonstration of drills designed to quickly correct bad habits that violate rules.
As well as instruction, she will provide information on the MLBUC umpire school scholarship and free clinic opportunities for umpire prospects and field questions on what the road to professional umpiring is really like.
Because of her unique experiences and perspectives as player and umpire in both the baseball and softball worlds, Pawol is expected to draw a huge crowd at the convention.
